More Reading...always reading

I am currently reading Dan Milman " No Ordinary Moments: A Peaceful Warrior's Guide to Daily Life"
Another book that is helping me on my own path.  Because the key to my own healing lies with me...no one else. 

Some rules to live by...and to remember.
    
     1.  We get only one body. We may like it or not, but it is the only thing we are guaranteed to keep for a lifetime.

     2. We will learn lessons.  Since Earth is our full time school, every person or incident is our teacher.

     3. Lessons often appear as "mistakes" or "failures"  The only real mistake is not learning the lesson.

     4. A Lesson is repeated until learned.  It will appear in various forms until we learn it.  If we are still here, we still have lessons to learn.

     5.  If we don't learn the easy lessons, they get harder.  Pain is one way the universe gets our attention.

     6. We'll know we have learned a lesson when our actions change.  Only action turns knowledge into wisdom.

     7.  We will tend to forget these rules.

     8.  We can remember anytime we wish.

Intelligence offers no exemption from the game of self deception....putting off consequences for your actions is common.  The key to living a fully awake life, a life of meaning, a life that lets you be who you need to be is to live and experience each moment, each action as well as being aware.  Aware of your body, aware of this moment, aware of the consequences of your actions. 

Nature grants no entitlements, take responsibility for your own life, Live a life of CONSCIOUS decisions. Free of illusions, wishes or denial. 

Learning WHY you do certain things is useless if you don't work to change them if needed.  You might as well still be in the dark.  Inaction is as bad as stupidity. ( And means you haven't really learned anything at all)
